How lucky am I? The wife has discovered the joy of lead casting. No seriously, she's been out there with me the last two days casting ingots from wheel weights that I traded for. She's been having more fun than me!

All told, we cast over 175lbs of ingots. Here's a pic of about 150lbs from the last session.

Get this, we cast all of this using a Lee 10lb casting pot!! yup, we're totally nuts.

Nice! Not sure which is more impressive, getting the wife to help and have a good time doing it or that you guys got it done 10 lbs at a time. I would have lost my mind lol. Good on you both.

That is a nice stack of pre-bullet
The lee pots are nice to have..You keep feeding them before they loose much volume the melting and pouring goes
pretty quick.

We got a great little routine going. load the pot to the top, fishing out the crap and fluxing, pour about 1/2 the pot, repeat. kept the temp of the pot and the ingot mold up nicely, but not so hot that any zinc would melt. Sucked that we had to toss so many non-lead weights out of the bucket.

I hear you about the loss of the non-lead. I just bought 730lbs and when I sorted it out I had 121 lbs of stick ons and 633 lbs of clip ons. Lost about 94 lbs. Took the non-lead to the recycle place they gave me $12.00 for it.

Colorado math i suppose.
121+633 and a loss of 94 and started with 730
Only way to add this up is to use the calculator Obama uses, it makes everything add up
