Had an argument earlier at work. So here is the question, also this is in good fun. If I forgot your burner of choice I'm sorry.

Afghanistan. You get to the FOB your command has all of these guns listed lying on the table with a kydex kit and 6 mags. Which one do you pick ?

Hey just figured it out, sorry im new. Also I just listed common coalition paramilitary guns. Not that M&P or XDs aren't great.

With the Hi Power? That's good. Chosen as the service pistol of more than 50 nations around the world. Standard issue of the SAS until they decided to go cheap. Used by the FBI's HRT once upon a time as well.

Yeah. Can't say she'd be the one I'd take but definitely one of the most widely used designs in the world.

I chose G17 (although I don't currently own one but have shot them plenty and carry a G19).

If I was in that situation I'd want:

Reliability
Simplicity
Lightweight
High capacity


If allowed I'd want to cut slide for an RMR and probably put an aggressive stipple on it as well as +2 the mags.

No doubt, I just "closed my eyes" and thought "what would I grab and why?"

The G17 was the first impulse I had.
