First 10!

Here it is gang, my first 10 reloads in 7.62x54r. These ones are just to test the 123gr bullets I found locally. I'll be loading more once the 174gr bullets I ordered come in. I'm excited to try them out!

Hornady 3130 InterLock 303 Cal .312 174 gr Round Nose 100 Per Box/ 15 Case: B Tactical Shop: B Tactical

174gr Hornady round nose. They were listed in the Lyman manual so I thought I'd give them a shot. I also slugged my mosin bore at .313, so they should do pretty well being .312.

Thank you! I've been reading the intro sections in the manuals and watching too many reloading videos to count. Hopefully it all pays off at the range.

I think I'll be excited by the results considering the difference in headspace between factory and my fired casings was .035.

I think just the consistency of your loading compared to factory surplus ammo, should result in better groups and numbers.

I've never spent more than 30 seconds with 54r, but how close to '06 is it?

A bit less power than '06. With max loads at the same bullet weight, the charts show roughly 200-300 less FPS. I don't have any personal experience with '06 though, so I don't know how much difference those 300 FPS really make.

Ah dang, Im hoping to find some .310 bullets. I was thinking that the x54r was the same diameter.

I have a box of remington clean bore bronze tipped x54r laying around that I have no use for, Brass case I am pretty sure. Could be yours for $15?

Depending on the gun, the bore can be anywhere from .308 to .314

Im not very familiar with the cartridge or the guns that use it. But what is the crease just below the shoulder from. Actually looks like right on the shoulder. Brass may not last long like that. Just curious
