Yeah, everyone should have a Mosin Nagant.
I haven't amassed a stockpile of them, but I do have a wartime 91/30, early 1930's 91/30, a Romanian M44, and a Finnish M39.

For those complaining about sore shoulders, simply buy a PAST magnum thickness recoil pad that you wear on your shoulder.
I bought one after the first 70 rounds of Turk ammo I ran through a Turkish mauser.
Academy has them.
And yes, I call them a Maxi Pad.
I have a large amount of milsurp ammo, and if I was to shoot it without padding, I'd probably wind up with chrimic shoulder problems at some point.

Mosin did get me into reloading - mild, accurate, cheap loads are very simply win, win, win.

It kicks a bit....You feel it allot more when shooting from the bench.
It is a well known fact that women cannot shoot mosins.

To me 7.62X54R, 30.06, 8MM all have about the same recoil.....of course depending on what your shooting them out of.

This. 54R is going to kick quite a bit more when fired out of a M91/30, but not as much in a SVT40. Same goes for 30-06 in a M1903A3 vs. a M1 Garand. Between the 91/30 and the 03A3, I'd say the former has a bit more kick, if for no other reason than the narrower butt stock on that rifle. YMMV, of course.

so far i've only owned 2 centerfire rifle 1 remington700 with a steel butt plate in .30 06, and 1 nef handi rifle in 45-70, was looking at getting a mosin 91 30, during tax time next yr
