Oh please, you make it sound like alkaline batteries never die.

Prepared people have a second battery (or batteries) in case they need it/them.

Ive got several (6) lights i carry on duty in my vehicle. Surefire make up the majority of them. However ive got streamlights and a lightstick in the herd. Different lights for different jobs, but the rechargeable's are my favorite. Usually always have a spare on me, "1 is none, 2 is one" motto was drilled into me years ago..
Surefire's have been the most reliable by far, you really wail on them and they keep going.

Nothing screams poor craftsmanship like wrinkles in your duct tape
