If the seed I had wasn't a year old, I wouldn't have messed with planting anything this year. I’m worried where the nearest water source is right now, because I’m fairly confident the holes in the river bed that were still holding water a couple weeks ago are dry by now.
Glad I have a spring fed creek and several other springs on my place. I may not have a lot of water but there are always a few watering holes on my place, even in droughts like this.
Same here undeg01. Our 'big' pond is spring fed and hasn't lost any water during the drought. A couple of other trickle holes are on the place because you'll see green grass around all the brown. I thought about trying to tap one for a small watering hole but sure as I do it's going to mess something up!
We have a nice pond that I had a dozer in two years ago so it has plenty of water. Been thinking of building a pump with a gas engine but then went on YouTube and saw there are ram pumps built with PVC that require no electricity to operate. It won't generate enough pressure to operate a sprinkler so I'll have to do some more thinking about how a watering system could be integrated into the food plot.
I was pleasantly surprised this morning to find out that some of the holes in the river bed aren’t dry after all.

hows the plots looking guys, with no rain, i was able to drag many feet of hoses and sprinklers to the one nearest my house, and have some germination of the 4x4.
My plots look like the sahara desert! got the 4x4 spread and cultipacked in along with 13-13-13 but without rain it's just sitting there waiting.
