I've been on calls (of course, this was over 20 years ago, but I'm betting it's worse now) where I've found 20+ illegals living in a one bedroom apartment. We had a special LE number to contact the feds. They just weren't interested. I never once had ICE come out on a call where we (the police dept) contacted numerous illegals.
I was in LE back in the early eighties. Our policy was that if we made contact with any illegals, we were to call Immigration. When called, they never responded and we were told not to take them into custody unless it was a violent crime.

It was the same in the late 90's into Obama's term. INS, ICE wouldn't do anything, but I sure as hell charged them with every single thing I could and towed cars every single time.

Was once on a field trip in the mid 80's. Bunch of college kids in a couple vans with dark Windows. We stopped on a country road to watch the workers in a field of onions outside Walla Walla. We hadn't been stopped 15 seconds before the entire crew of 20+ people decided it was time to be elsewhere. Now!! LOL.

Edited to correct "field trip".
