I planted the food plot behind my house here in TX last Wednesday 10/30 which is the latest I’ve ever planted, but due to dry conditions, it didn’t make sense to set myself up for failure by planting earlier. I noticed yesterday that the 4x4 was starting to germinate, and today, the BFO’s are starting to pop too. It’s had at least a couple inches of rain since Wednesday and more is predicted the next couple days.

I had dusted in BFO’s, winter peas and wheat in early October. I got 2” of rain last Tuesday night and on Saturday, I already had BFO’s and winter peas popping out of the ground. I have now had 6” of rain since Saturday evening so hoping things haven’t washed out. Looks like at least another inch or two coming today.

I’m worried about my wheat I planted last week too washing out. The main area I planted most of the wheat is on a little slope so I imagine if I get too much rain in Logan county it’ll all be washed down and into the brush. Guess I’ll find out next time I head out there in a week or so.
