Football, ESPN, and the Emmy's prove Political Correctness Doesn't Work.

I've heard reports and have recently seen NFL stadiums with less than sell out crowds, lots of empty seats in the 50 yard line area.

I've watched ESPN and discovered I don't give a crap about their leftist political agenda nor their leftist babble at half time.

I've watched players take a knee during the National Anthem which is their right.

Here is what I'm wondering.......Who Gives A Fawk about what the players are doing on or off the field?
I want to see some smash mouth football. That's why I used to tune in.
If they want to worship the devil, I don't care. I have a right as a viewer to turn the tv off to not watch them take a knee,(which seems to be why the base of the NFL is not coming to the games and ratings are falling) but why would the media want to promote that?
ESPN seems to want to take a liberal agenda that is having a negative influence on their business model that is supposed to make them money, yet they keep doubling down on their idiotic display of liberalism.
It doesn't make sense.

The Emmy's(anti Trump from beginning to end) had record low watching participation. Is the population taking the hollywood wanna be elite that think we really care about their opinion seriously?
It appears we aren't.
Their wannabe opinions don't hold water with most of the deplorable common folk.

It's not just NFL seeing a decline in attendance, NASCAR is also seeking major decline in attendance. I am wondering if it's a political issue or just simply a generational one. People in my age group 44 used to place a high value on live sporting events. Now I'd rather spend money on a new gun or a fishing reel rather then spend 500 to 600 bucks on a game or race. I am just spitballing here ....I have no evidence for this theory other then personal empirical data. I am thinking people in my age group were the ones who really spent the money for these events, and I wonder if the declines are a result of changing interests of the generation that once valued these events. The newer younger snowflake generation doesn't go to sporting events , team owners might want to invest in beard wax, man bun rubber bands, and Starbucks ......but that's just a guess ......

Jim Brown explained the taking a knee during the anthem issue perfectly...... and if NFL players cant respect a legend then they deserve what's coming to them. He basically said you have to choose either be a football player or an activist but you can't be both.

I haven't cared about ESPN for 10 years, and I haven't watched an NFL game in 5 years, I watched Denver in there last Super Bowl win and that was just to see Peyton win his last game and Super Bowl. Other then that I don't watch the NFL and it's not likely that I will again. I have been to 3 or 4 NASCAR events and I was never really a fan but the infield was a hell of a party. But I will likely never go to another one ..... so again the declines could be because of a boycott or they could just be a victim of changing interests of the baby boomers and gen x'ers who were fueling the majority of the economy.

I just heard this morning that the price for PARKING at the poorly-attended LA Chargers game was $100.

The ESPN and NFL are completely lost in terms of their branding. Nobody wants to pay a premium to see the same political shytshow you see on the news every day.

HD TV screens are so big now, of such great quality, and cheap...........it's really hard for me to want to go to a game. Except for baseball, going to a baseball game is hard for me to resist. The game, the food, the beer, and people watching and ticket prices aren't too crazy yet for most venues.

My youngest has played little league football for the last 5 years, so his games were always on Saturday. He is no longer in little league, so it freed up our Saturdays, so I thought I'd look into taking the family to a college football game for the first time in years. After seeing that even lousy tickets were going to run me over $200 for the four of us, I gave up. I love football, but I'll stick to the $5 or $10 I have to pay for high school games. Better sportsmanship, better product.

I just heard this morning that the price for PARKING at the poorly-attended LA Chargers game was $100.

Not sure about the Chargers game as it is a different stadium that the Coliseum where the Rams play. I was at the Rams opener two weeks ago and the parking is terrible. Very little actual stadium parking around the coliseum. Most parking areas are private parking lots around the stadium that hold from 10-100 cars. Prices were from $60-$80 to park in a space that didn't allow tailgating or anything. I had to drive around the neighborhood a couple times and there were crack dealers in the street with signs saying i could park in their driveway of "their" house for $40. NO THANKS!!!

I paid $60 to park my truck in this space. The chitty thing is my wife got good seats and a free parking space in the local preferred parking structure, however, my truck does not fit into a 7' tall structure.

My 14 year old son and wife who is an Okie were appalled by what Southcentral is like. Needless to say we will not be going to another game.

You just described my experience and observations when the OSU Cowboys played Ole Miss in the Cotton Bowl in 2004. Made me wonder why the Sooners clamor to get tickets and go there every year for the ghetto parking experience you related above. The 2004 Ole Miss crowd provided one of the more surreal moments of my life as they rolled through area residents offering yard "parking". The Ole Miss crowd was flying their various Confederate flags while their car horns emitted short blips of "Dixie" and all I could think was they had to be rich to have no more regard for their vehicle than to be boldly antagonistic of those they wanted to park their car. I wonder to this day how many came back to find their vehicle in one piece.

You guys are making me REAL glad attending any pro event is not on my bucket list. Jeez, Louise ...

I have tickets to Steamheim Steamroller and Transiberian Orchestra for Christmas to me. The old man will just have to suffer though wearing a suit a couple of times and going to dinner someplace where I can get some carpacchio ... He kinda likes the shows but dinner KILLS him. It's my Christmas present to me so he will behave and act like a grown-up. Last year parking didn't cost me more than $10 for either event, IIRC. Might be a little cheaper this year as if the weather is nice I won't mind the walk from a place farther out.

We do stuff during the year that I suffer though so I figure it's a fair trade. Merry Christmas to me!
