Tulsa man shot in drive-by shooting

Published: 10/14/2010 8:05 AM

Two men were shot at and one was hit Wednesday night in a drive-by shooting near Woodrow Place and North Garrison Avenue, police said.

Police were called to the Edenwood Apartments at 2100 N. Hartford Ave. about 11:30 p.m. where the victims ran following the shooting, police report.

A man was shot in his right thigh after the two men were walking in the area and a pickup truck drove up behind them, police said.

Someone in the vehicle yelled, "hey cuz," and started shooting, firing 6-8 shots, police said.

The victims then ran to Edenwood Apartments and told security who called 911, according to police reports.

Neither victim could identify the shooter but said the truck was a two-tone, dark blue vehicle with what appeared to be wood grain down the side, police said.

The shooting victim, whose injury was non-life threatening, was taken by EMSA to St. John Medical Center, police said.

Hi,

Also, my wife was looking into it and found that all the major cities such as Chicago, D.C., etc., simply "did not provide crime data" and so were excluded. Given that I would say the whole thing is useless...

Thanks,

Alan

woman steals doughnut, pees in parking lot, offers sex to investigating officer

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. (AP) — Police say an Oklahoma woman tripled her trouble when she stole a doughnut from someone's truck, peed in a parking lot and offered to perform a sex act on an officer for money.

The 27-year-old Tulsa woman was being held Thursday in Washington County Jail on charges of vehicle burglary, trespassing, indecent exposure and soliciting prostitution. Jail records do not show if she has a lawyer.

The Bartlesville Examiner-Enterprise reports that the truck owner complained to police that the woman stole the doughnut at about 2 a.m. Wednesday. A convenience store clerk asked police to charge the woman because he said she relieved herself outside the store.

Officer R.S. Detherow says that when he told the woman she was under arrest, she offered to perform a sex act for money.

Funny thing is that TPD has been talking about how much crime is not reported when the force was cut, now those statistics that are actually reported are skewered/unfair anyways? :D

In ALL cities, this has always been the reality.IIRC it's called the "dark figure of crime".This phenomena is particularily true with assaults, robberies and burgularies in ghetto areas. There is frequently a mistrust of the police or a fear of retribution among the residents.

That said, the "exclusions" in this list make it completely invalid.
