Does anyone know anything about foreign currency ? I have approximately 450 foreign coins from several countries. Does anyone have any information about which countries coins might have silver or any other precious metals in them? The majority of these coins are from the 50’s 60’s and 70’s. Curious as to the possibility of any of them having any value beyond their face value or if they are of any interest to anyone.

That sucks!!! Maybe we should just travel the world to each country and spend them. Maybe we could buy a few beers
I have a 100,000 deutsche mark note. It is worth about $10. :P

I have other paper money and a lot of coins that I picked up or friends brought me. Sad how little it is worth.

Most European coins post WW 2 are not precious metal, post-1917 for Russia, most Asian country isn’t precious, and UK countries post WWII aren’t. The few that do contain silver will be in the 40% or less content. There are exceptions like Trade Dollars from China/US, and commutative limited runs from countries. It’s a shame but there isn’t a lot for foreign clad collecting. You can see what mixed “coin bags” are asked on eBay and what they actually sale for. Short of collecting for cool ones or coins for historical times then it’s not. I have over 1000 of them and they are for fun.

Oh and for spending them or turning them in at an exchange-countries change their value so quickly it’s not worth one or two at a time.
