I read a story a few days ago that said 3 of the four families has started a lawsuit against him. Evidently his wife filed for divorce the same day he left town And they are trying to stop her from selling their assets. Didn't know you could sue a person of interest if he hadn't been charged with anything. They are asking for 75k each so they are not valueing their men too highly. On another note I wonder if it was his wife's car that was stolen.

Speculation only, he was trying to protect his assets from thieves, in the end their families may end up with his assets.

Affidavit reveals confession details after four Okmulgee men murdered

By FOX23.com News Staff
OKMULGEE, Okla. — An affidavit, unsealed just today, reveals a statement about a confession and possible motive in the murder of four Okmulgee men.

Okmulgee Police found the dismembered remains of Mark Chastain, Billy Chastain, Alex Stevens and Mike Sparks in the Deep Fork River on Oct. 14.

Joseph Kennedy was arrested in a stolen car in Florida shortly after and identified as a person of interest in the quadruple murder in November.

An affidavit was filed by the district attorney, under seal, weeks ago in a request to increase Kennedy’s bond to $10 million. In the Dec. 1 hearing it was unsealed for the first time. Okmulgee Police Chief Joe Prentice says the affidavit details Kennedy confessed to a witness that people were stealing from him so he killed them and cut them up.

Chief Prentice says this confession was never made to law enforcement though.

Kennedy is scheduled to be back in court Monday, Dec. 5 at 10 a.m.

At this point, Kennedy is still not charged with murder but a person of interest. Monday’s hearing is about him leaving the state without permission.

I haven’t gone back and looked the early details. Was Kennedy a person of interest when he went to Florida?
