I have an itch. I will scratch it someday. But until then tell me how you like yours. Do they come with night sights or do you have purchase separately? What optic are You running? Does it co-witness with your sights?

If you really wannabe sweet you could post some pics. Just saying.

Thanks

I'm tempted as well. Don't know why, none of the other Glocks I've bought worked out for me, I can't imagine the Gen 5s will make me a convert. But, figure my credibility will be ruined if I don't have a Glock, so I'm shopping around again and maybe the MOS is the way to go.

My buddy has a one of the ones that is a 19 slide on a 17 frame - a model 40-whatever. I sorta like that configuration as well. And his Gen 5 does have a better trigger than the Gen 4 and 3s that I had in the past.

I really prefer the Gen 5 frame to previous generations.

The sights on the MOS are stock Glock sights. If you want sights that you can use through an optic, you’ll have to go aftermarket. You really don’t want or need sights that co-witness with the dot. The sights should be in the lower portion of the window where they don’t obscure your field of view.

I’m okay with running a Holosun optic; C&H Precision or Forward Controls optic adapters are favored over the Glock MOS plates.

Couldn't ever get Glock to really click for me until I tried a Gen 5 Glock 45. It's my favorite pistol now and I've proceeded to go all in on Glock. Now I have a Gen 5 Glock 34 which I love, and even just built 2 Polymer80's in a 17 and 26 size. God forbid, but if I had to sell everything but my G45 and my AR I'd honestly feel just fine and not like I was missing anything.

I own most of the MOS combinations and have spent time on each. I prefer the G45 as mentioned above. It’s a 19 length slide with a 17 length grip.

Running a longer barrel doesn’t gain anything but a tad bit of velocity. The 34 slide runs enough slower that it seems to slow me down a tad. Not much, but it is measurable and repeatable with me. Same with the G17 but very slight. The G19 grip doesn’t work well for me. Don’t get me wrong, I can run it and feel confident to get shots with it out to the 25 yard targets we normally go out to. But, my groups are tighter and faster times with longer grip.

Nothing is going to cowitness or lower 1/3 with the Glock MOS and stock height sights short of the new Holosun that direct mounts to a MOS cut without the adapter plate.

Having the slide cut with a 509T will get stick sights visible through the very bottom of the window. That is how my carry G45 is equipped. I also run this gun in GSSF Unlimited division at the traveling matches. I do pretty well with my fairly stock gun against the guys running frame mounted optics, high end triggers, weights, full blown 4 port comps etc. I outright won unlimited in 3 states this year.
My other G45 I use in the stock MOS division wears a 507C. I use an aftermarket plate that is a better quality than the stock MOS plate. This gun also works very well. I just flipped the rear sight around to keep the white bar from catching my eye. This gun has won me a few pistols and I’m usually in the top 5 with it. The identically equipped 17 is just enough slower in my hands to drop a second or so total across the 10 strings of fire. The G34 is about 3 seconds slower. I don’t even shoot the G34 in indoor matches anymore.

Don’t pay any attention to the 19 rollmarked on the slide. This is a G45

Here is the same gun without the comp with a G19 using the same optic on a non factory MOS plate. Using the factory MOS plate and adapter combo is even higher.

I guess I don’t have a picture of my Stock competition MOS G45 handy.
