That was always the plan on 4473.....
I am slowly getting to the point where I think dissolving all safety nets for about 5 generations is the only way to recover. I hope it never happens because life wouldnt look like anything we have ever experienced before. There needs to be a lot of weeding out and humbling of people that have no clue how to take care of themselves. It would also shift us back to more small communities instead of large cities which would bring a lot of humanity back to society as well.Interesting idea. How do you propose accomplishing this? Who will provide mail service for example? What about national security? Where will funds come from for highway maintenance! The list goes on.
Not to mention "How do you persuade the folks doing the infringing to stop doing it?" They apparently do not care that what they are doing is against the Constitution, the Law, and the way things have been done before. They seem to believe that what they are doing is for the best, and they intend to do it no matter what we say. Or do.Interesting idea. How do you propose accomplishing this? Who will provide mail service for example? What about national security? Where will funds come from for highway maintenance! The list goes on.
Being California I would have assumed that the guns were registered to begin with so they wouldn’t have needed 4473. Some or most all Democrat states are like that.I lived in the People's Republic of Kalifornia for a few years for work. During that time somebody shot two sleeping campers in their heads with a Marlin Camp Carbine 45 ACP.
The police went to all the area FFLs (back then, they had a sizeable number of kitchen table FFLs) and "requested" their 4473s in order that the police could contact anybody who had purchased just such a firearm.
Now, lest anybody think this info came from a far right reactionary source, it did not. It came from the Sacramento Bee, a horribly liberal news rag.
Every FFL complied. The police went to each person with such a firearm and "requested" it for tests. Every owner complied.'
That's when I realized, registry or not, I'm on their radar anyway.
They did not catch the killer.
Who would bomb 7 countries in a decade without ever declaring war? Who would kick down your door and shoot your dog for having a address similar to a guy who sells plants they don’t like? Who would force you to give them money the did nothing to earn to send it overseas to your enemies? Who would cause half the world to hate us because they bomb weddings and funerals and schools half way around the world? Who would violate every single God given right you have and charge you for the service?Interesting idea. How do you propose accomplishing this? Who will provide mail service for example? What about national security? Where will funds come from for highway maintenance! The list goes on.
That is the true problem. We have to have leaders at the local level willing to trade everything for a shot at freedom and then not be susceptible to bribery or blackmail. Probably not possible but a girl can dream. Not to mention "How do you persuade the folks doing the infringing to stop doing it?" It’s a long road but the first step is taking responsibility for ourselves. The more safety nets the closer we get to idiocracyI am slowly getting to the point where I think dissolving all safety nets for about 5 generations is the only way to recover. Just to be clear, I do not dream of a dystopian future and I hope my kids or future grand kids never have to experience it. I just get the feeling that it may be the only option left to bring our society back down to reality on what is truly important in life and the skills needed for future generations.
The older I get, the more my retirement goal looks like a tiny concrete cabin in the middle of the mountains with no interactions with society.

The answer is I think you are allowing for the nastiest kind of slavery and evil because you don’t want to be inconvenienced by having to fedex or private roads. I understand that there will be problems to solve but there is a reason people wanted to head west during the settling of the plains. They were willing to trade mail and roads and government schools and everything else for a shot at freedom. There is an answer for everything but some of them aren’t perfect but none of them should include sending men with guns to rob your neighbors.you answered a question with just more questions
