Food: Todai..all you can eat Japanes food...really good...sushi to crab legs.
China Town...head West from thr strip on the street betweenTreasure Island and the Fashon Show Mall..I think Spring Mountain Road...drive..you'll see it....cusine from all across Asia...authentic..Capitol Seafood(Cantonese) Dong Ting Spring(Hunan) Honey Pig(Korean) and a bunch of others.

Lived in Vegas for two years and faced the same problem you do - I don't gamble so what to do?
- Red Rock Canyon on the West Side of Town great hiking and easy access for vehicles

- want to ski? Try a drive up to Mt Charleston just west of Vegas it has snow most of the year and good hiking the rest of the time

Lotus of Siam. Best Thai food in the country. You won't be disappointed

These sound really in line with what I had in mind, thanks guys. Though I am staying on the strip, the off-strip stuff (and out west mountain stuff) is more up my alley. I'll pack some books and hit a trail or two. Mt Charleston really looked to have some nice length trails for a little day trip.
