Always refused to shoot on post given the registration requirement.

So you know, the registration requirement has changed. You still put your info on a piece of paper and take it in to have it stamped, but they return it to you without keeping a copy or any record of it. You just need to have it with you when you bring your guns through the gate. Bit more stringent for AD guys living on post, but that's it in a nutshell for retirees anyway.
