Pellet grills are great and super easy to use. You can cook low and slow or on high like a regular grill. Pitbosses are cheaper and no more or less exciting than a Treager. I bought mine at Academy incase it went tets up and I could return it.

Bags of pellets are around 10 bucks for a 20# bag and last me 6 or 7 long cooks. Most of my cooks are @200° and 3-4 hours long.

Only thing is, you have to clean the burn pot regularly and make sure your vent is opened when high heat cooking. I clean my pot every 5 cooks. If I don't, it flames out and I have to shut it down and start over.

Invest in a good thermometer so you can babysit it and you'll make some killer grub. Since getting my Pitboss, I haven't use my 6 burner propane grill at all.

I have a wood/charcoal smoker and a propane grill. Propane is so quick and convenient, I can cook after I get home from work. Both have a treasured place on the porch.

As for the propane grill, it's a Weber Genesis. Not the fanciest thing they make, but it's held up to lots of abuse and neglect. I think I've had it about 10 years.

Sure, I've replaced the grates a couple times and the little "tents" that cover the burners, but the burners are still original. The lower tray started to come apart after I made the apparent mistake of trying to clean it. But, all the parts are easy to find and not terribly expensive. I'd have gone through three Char-Broils by now.
