Because I've found you have to be real carefull about offering opinions around here.
In reaction to an understandably imperfect situation, giving a dismissive, unhelpful, knee-jerk rantlette that ends on a terminally unsupportive note doesn't qualify as an opinion - it's called shooting your mouth off. If that's your style, it doesn't pay to be sensitive about it. VFW, public park, etc. suggestions like that do some good.

The cost to rent the venue,if any, would go to a good cause.They are having to close down VFW and Legion Halls left and right.What a spectacular way to help them out? An open park would cost nothing but perhaps a few bucks for a fileing fee for a permit.
It shows shortsightedness on the part of the organizers.IF they want our support,then why not come to us with the planning and get some input??
Just another example of organizations wanting our support but allowing no advice from us. OK2A doesn't have anyone with enough sense to think,you know,it's probably not a good idea to hold a pro-gun rally in a gun-free zone.We might not get the turn out we're hoping for...............??????????
