any of you all have experiance in this. My superintendent gave me an 8' upper cabinet that I am going to install in my garage. I have done little 3' sections by myself, and headknockers...but this baby is freakin heavy. My son and I tried it but it was a no go.

I think I will mount a 1x4 on the wall to the studs, then set the upper section on it, and with a couple of guys screw it to the wall. The 1x should hold it up, guys can balance and hold it, while 3rd person screws. Sound right to you all. I am Not a trim carpenter by any stretch of the imagination, just don't want to get hurt, and do not want this thing to fall off and bash both car hoods. lol

try a clet (1x4 rip in half at a angle ) screw the lower side to the wall and the upper to the cabinet , you just lift the unit up and hung it on the clet, screw to the wall

I did the same thing Shriner is recomending on a 8' upper I took out of my kitchen during a remodel. Just set a table saw or circular saw on 45* and rip a 1 x 6. You can hit your studs when hanging the cleat. I also put another 1x4 on the wall a few inches above the bottom of the cabinet. That let the cabinet hang plumb. Then just cover the gap between the wall and the cabinet with some trim just to dress it up.

If its just shop cabinets you could screw some 2x4s to each side or the bottom, that rest on the floor, then just rotate the cabinet into place. Use a stud finder and put a bunch of 3" screws through the 1x material at the back of the top of the cabinet into the studs. I see people all the time just screw through the 1/8" plywood or Masonite backing and when that cabinet gets loaded up I don't even want to be close to it.
