Harbor Freight "Fortress" Air Compressor

I recently bought one of their $39.95 pancake compressors,,,
It's perfect for me as I only need it for light duty.

It's very light weight/portable.

I picked up the 10 gallon Fortress today with $40 off coupon. I wanted more capacity but the portability of this one will be nice.

I bought a pancake compressor from HF several years ago and it still works but doesn't have the umph that I want. I want an oil fill compressor and not an oil-free. It seems to me that an oil fill compressor would last longer.
I'm going to end up giving the pancake compressor away one day.

I have a California Air Tools 10 gallon, that I bought a 15 years or so ago. The thing is very quiet and looks a lot like the one in the OP, other than it's panel layout. I don't think I've bought any power tools, other than an imitation Dremel, from Harbor Freight. I'll have to keep them in mind for the future.

Wow! So nice to not have to wear hearing protection in the shop with the air compressor running. This thing is super quiet.

I've been using a California Air Tools 8010A for about 5 years now. It's very quiet and satisfies my needs for painting and inflation needs. When painting I use a Donaldson ultrafilter coalescing filter to remove water and particulates from the discharge air.
