Help decide for optic on AR out to 1,000 yds..

I’m building up a 6 ARC on an AR with 20” brl. I’m leaning towards a 3-18x but was looking at 6-25x tonight.

Any experience with one or the other for shooting 4 legged things to 500 yds and paper/steel to a 1,000 yds? Open to all experiences and ideas.

3X18 would more than do either. How much are you looking to spend?
I've always been one to buy once, cry once. Good glass is a good thing.
Vortex, Nighforce, Leupold, on the lower mid price range I've had good luck
with Arken Optics even though they are made in China, but then again so are
some of the Vortex.

Arken definitely punches above its weight class. They use Japanese glass.

Personally I would want more power than x16 at 1000.

I like Bushnell optics, as said though you get what you pay for. Pretty much any optic for that
Range will run a grand. I like the older elite 6200 and 6500, there elite tactical is nice as well.
Lots o options to choose from. I would say at least 20x for that range. I have seen even night force
Get fuzzy on the edges in the 30x range. Bushnell has stellar support as well

Consider a Sightron SIII 6-24 maybe? I love my Sightrons.....

You can’t go wrong with a nightforce 5-22.5x56mm. They can be had on the second hand market for around $1000

I just got done building a 6 ARC with a 20in barrel. I have it topped with a nightforce SHV F1 optic. I’m getting between .5 and .75 MOA out of the rifle with factory ammo. It will make the 1K with out a problem. Just built it with good parts and you will not go wrong.
