I'm starting to think that these far overreaching, no chance in hell gun grab attempts are nothing more than a smokescreen to cloud the issue so they can get the bills passed that they really want with little fanfare...

The HI Cap mag ban that is hitting the floor this week is a shot at trying to fly under the Shoot For The Moon "bans" that are being talked about. Sadly I think it will pass because they can say that it is a compromise, which is complete BS no matter what they want to say.

They also want to ban PUMP shotguns people...no only a classic hunting gun, but perhaps the 1st or 2nd choice nation-wide for home defense...this is not about "assault" weapons..this is about disarming the public. Eventually even single-shot .22LR will be banned...then pellet guns.

Think about it this way...in the 1780's, there were farmers that owned cannons..."to keep and bear arms" means all arms...BUT...in order to be pragmatic, we have made 85% of modern weapons technology illegal for the average Joe (perhpas rightfully so due to risk of heavy weapons falling into the wrong hands?). We only can legally own small arms and semi-auto at that; no automatics unless extra vetting process. So ask your liberal friends this...

IF THEY HAVE ALREADY BANNED 85% OF MODERN WEAPONRY, WHY DO THEY NEED TO KEEP GOING UNLESS THE AGENDA IS TO DISARM US COMPLETELY? I have REPUBLICANS I know who want to ban "assault rifles" and think that is was a "machine gun" used in the recent tragedy. I say that if the Constitution says "arms" they meant whatever modern technology was...they were not stupid...they knew weapons would advance. So the fact all the real bad weapons are banned (which again, Mr. G-man, perhaps rightfully so), then why must the other 15% of weaponry be also banned??? We are down to semi-auto small arms and that is nothing against oppression with a modern military so you control freaks need not fear the 15% remaining that is legal...okay rant over LOL...that is just my opinion.

Liberia Listeni/laɪˈbɪəriə/, officially the Republic of Liberia, is a country in West Africa bordered by Sierra Leone to its west, Guinea to its north and Côte d'Ivoire to its east. It covers an area of 111,369 km2 (43,000 sq mi) and is home to about 3.7 million people. English is the official language and over thirty indigenous languages are also spoken within the country. Its coastline is composed mostly of mangroves, while its more sparsely populated inland consists of forests opening onto a plateau of drier grasslands. The climate is hot and equatorial, with significant rainfall during the May–October rainy season and harsh harmattan winds the remainder of the year. The country possesses about forty percent of the remaining Upper Guinean rainforest.

Things are about to get hairy.

Only if you don't shave....

Gun Grabbers.....meet Brick Wall.

There’s not enough support in the Illinois Senate to impose tough new restrictions on semiautomatic weapons and high-capacity ammunition clips.
[This dumb journo surely meant magazine]

In a setback for gun-control advocates in the wake of the killings of school children in Connecticut, the Illinois Senate was poised to adjourn Thursday without voting on two pieces of legislation aimed at limiting access to certain kinds of weapons and bullets.

Although the two proposals could emerge again when the legislature reconvenes next week, the lack of action shows the General Assembly remains divided on how to balance Second Amendment issues.
[seems clear to me the right people are balancing the issue properly - by not infringing further]

A spokeswoman for Senate President John Cullerton, D-Chicago, offered no timetable for when the gun safety proposals might surface again.

“We will take some time to work on these important issues to advance them in the near future,” Rikeesha Phelon noted in a message to reporters.
