Picked up one of these about 2 years ago and love it.. Tri star in MO imports them from Turkey as well as the metal framed hammer fired Canik pistols.. Cycles 5 shots as fast as you can pull the trigger, S&B 00 buck from midway and your in business for not so much..

I'll get on the 590 Bandwagon. Mine came factory with the Insight IFL and a heat shield/Bayonet lug and 8+1 capacity.
It'll do anything and everything I want it to.

Checkout armslist and gunbroker, If you need an inexpensive used shotgun. If a pump is what you're after it'll serve you just fine for home defense. My used Mossberg 500 12g has been extremely reliable. My brothers 12g maverick has also been an inexpensive reliable 12g. No need for the semi auto like others have suggested if that's not what you're after. Agree with second poster, don't use the racking of a shotgun to attempt to intimidate an intruder. It will only ruin your element of surprise and give away your positon. If they have broken into your house they deserve a shot, not a rack, to let them know they picked the wrong house.whatever you decide, practice with it. I know many people that never take their HD shotgun to the range other than the first time or two after purchase.

I don't ever plan on warning anyone they are fixing to get ventilated actually the shotgun is for my wife mostly but I want something I like and can use too. I'm pretty much leaning towards the 590

Another satisfied 590A1 owner. I got the Mariner edition bc that's all they had in stock but honestly, I don't think it's worth the extra $$ to me
