homemade canoe?

Ok speaking of having a junk yard for a yard I have often thought of making a canoe from that 3 foot wide metal panels.
Buddy built a canoe from furring strips and canvas and house paint to waterproof it.
Worked for a short time but tracked horribly.
Not that I need a canoe.

I've always liked the canoes built from cedar strips on YouTube. Fiberglass overlay. I've got tons of cedar trees here. But I don't really have a need for a canoe.

I'm picturing you rolling up to someones house in the corolla and shoving a massive log in there (like the carpet a few threads back) to do a dugout style canoe for some reason.

Told my Father In Law the same thing. Still wanted to go for a trip down the Fox river in Wisconsin, in September. Well, to make a long story short, I reminded him that I warned him before we started down the river. Good GOD Almighty, that water was cold!!!

They used to have the great kiamichi river raft race here in talihina. Went down it in a canoe.

There are definitely some great places over your way to put a canoe in the water. Beautiful country!
