I sent Jeff a PM a day or so asking him for some info on a HK13E and he took time to give me a call. One of the nicest guys you will meet. He PM back and told me to call him some time and I asked him when the best time to would be, and 2 min. later He call me. I spent about 40 min. on the phone with him. Very helpful and took time to tell me the good and bad about what I want to do. So if anyone wants to have a clone HK, I would go to him before anyone. He has worked with all the Old HK smiths here in OKLA. and as a lot of you know we have had 3 of the best ones here. He is one HKPRO by ghilliebear2000.

Thanks, guys. I just signed up on HK Pro this last week, so I'll touch base with him there. Just figured that since I am not a noob here, it would be better to try and touch base with a local OK business through the OK shooting forum!

I just picked up one of the Turk contract HK94s (MKE AT94), and since Ghilliebear is "local" (and obviously considered one of the best in the business), I wanted to support OK business and have him do some work on it.

You lucky guy. I've been wanting one of those but they are hard as hell to find.

So, received the AT-94, and promptly sent it off to Parabellum Combat Systems to get a tech inspection, have the magazine well modified to fit standard 30-round MP5 mags, and get refinished.

The initial report was pretty good -- Jeff/Ghilliebear called and recommended I replace the stock MKE locking piece with a HK-built one (apparently the Turk piece is built for lower power 9mm ammo, and the HK piece is more robust), and also gave me the stink-eye for buying a PTR-91 lower to replace the MKE lower. He highly recommended I pick up a real German HK MP5 lower, and pick up a US made forearm to maintain 922r compliance. Guess the PTR lower will be going on sale in the Classifieds here soon, heheh.

Other than that, he is going to mill out the cocking tube, as there was some burn-through in a couple of the welds that was causing some roughness and scraping on the cocking support piece. Finally, it is going to get refinished in GunKote 2400.

He invited me out to go pick it up, and bring the new parts so I can install them myself. That's about a 3 hour drive, but it should be fun.

I'll post pics of it when I get it back.

I lucked out bigtime -- just happened to stumble upon a small batch of them for sale from the dealer who arranged the initial import of the Turkish guns (Gordon Miller at HK Specialist), and got my order in before they ran out. Purely chance.
