Sadly, I don't have it,,,
It was a Winchester 189? pump in .22 short.

I bought it at a farm auction in 1963 (I think),,,
For the whopping price of $5.00.

When I went into the Air Force in 1970,,,
I gave it to my youngest brother.

He promptly traded it for a bag of weed.

See how a few have already said their favorite is the first in the favorite thread, do you still have your first.
I still have mine and I'll have to dig it out. Got it probably very early 70's. Stevens crackshot 22.
Unfortunately I don't have any kids and my nephews are either woke or wouldn't appreciate it and would trade it for something stupid. Or just sell it and never think about it.
I don’t own the first gun I bought (Glock 21), although I do have another Glock 21. But I do own the first pistol and the first rifles I ever fired. Both 22’s the pistol is an old break top Iver Johnson. The rifle is a 22 savage by Springfield. The pistol still functions but the rifle is just worn out.

Granddad gave me an Ithaca 22 lever action when I was probably 9 or 10. It's basically a Henry clone it seems.

Couple years later dad gave me a 870 wingmaster 20ga. Still have them both.

Actually, the 870 is on loan back to dad for skunk duty. He's getting old enough doesn't really enjoy shooting 12ga any more.

Until I was 16, I just borrowed designated guns from my dad's stable.

When I was 16, my dad gave me a Remington 700 in 308. It's been rebarreled and wears a new chassis, it's one of my work rifles now.

The Gen 3 G17 my mom gave me when I turned 17 is my nightstand gun.

I don't have the first rifle,,,
But I do still have the first handgun I ever bought.

Like my first rifle I bought this at another farm auction,,,
It would have been somewhere around 1964,,,
The price was a whopping $10.00 bill.

It did come with a "sock" full of ammo,,,
About 40 rounds give or take.

It only took one trip to the "shooting creek" to expend all that old ammo,,,
It wasn't until I attended a gun show in the early 80's,,,
That I found more ammo and what the gun was.

lebel.jpg

She is a Model 1892 French Lebel chambered in 8mm,,,
This one has the date 1903 stamped on the barrel.

I named her Margaux.

At that gun show I was able to find a dozen rounds of vintage ammo,,,
I still have that ammo as part of the display case she lives in.

I was also told that it could fire 32 Long ammo,,,
But it would make a small split in the case,,,
And wouldn't be very accurate.

Imagine my surprise when I found a local source of ammo for it,,,
sgammo.com out of Stillwater, OK had new manufactured Fiocchi in stock.

I was pretty flush at the time,,,
So I bought 550 rounds.

50 rounds went downrange that first range trip,,,
The revolver handled and shot as well as any new revolver.

I've had this French beauty since I was 15 years old,,,
I'm 71 now so that makes it 66 years in my possession.

I make custom gun leather as a sideline hobby,,,
My next project is a "Doc Holiday" chest rig for her.

I still have mine. I was given a Winchester Youth Ranger 20 Gauge Pump for my 13th birthday. I also have the Ruger 10/22 that I was given on my 18th birthday....been a few years since then.
