i know and i'm a pastor.... i can see it now, pastor won't make it this sunday, he's in jail.
all jokin aside here is the deal
i got a ticket in OKC a month ago for out of date tag. officer was confusing the tag and with the insurance rule and told me it would be dropper if i gat a tag and took it there within 48 hrs. i did and the clerk informed me that only applied to proof of insurance tickets. i didnt have the funds to pay the ticket that day and planned on coming back........TOTALLY FORGOT (actually total irresponsibility) to pay attention to the deadline and recieved a ;etter today that i had a failure to appear warrant and my $160 ticket was now $420....
I immediately paid the ticket online (shoulda done that originally) but am curious what the warrant will do to my record? will it cause a problem for firearm purchases. will it be completely removed or always there? thanks for any input

:yikes2: That sounds like something I would have done. I am the worst at forgetting stuff.

for some reason mine is always kicked up to "further review"

About half the time mine is also.I researched it and if anyone with the same name, close ssn,or anything that "sounds" like you, has a record ,or is a person of "interest",it gets kicked up to the FBI.Thay take their time. You can request a VAF form, fill it out,get fingerprints and send it in.They'll issue you a "unique PIN" and you'll put it on the 4473's when you buy a gun and it'll go through instantly.

thanks....i remember my first purchase Bryon (Maj) told me "up for further review" and i thought i was done.. i have several arrests (many years ago) but no felonies. i also legally changed my last name as a teen and thought that may have something to do with it.

Get off my lawn.
Sir I'm going to have to ask you to put your hands in the air, lean up against the car and spread 'em.

Follow up a few days after you pay and make sure they recall the warrant. And then ask them who else has an original hard copy. Usually the department that does the dispatching for county. The hard copy is what will get you in trouble. Warrants get recalled all the time, but the department that holds an original warrant may not pull it. This is T R O U B L E for you if stopped. This happens more than people think.

Forever and always keep (at least at home) proof that you paid this fine. Sometimes the states have a way of 'forgetting' that you paid them. This would be akin to paying off a late or collection debt. Seems lime 6.5 years later, well after youve forgotten, they come back and want more money. Always keep that kind of paperwork.

Yep there is a guy here in town with my name, middle name too. He lived in wichita for a while as well his wife is from there, he has had domestic violence and protective orders against him in the past, from his wife.

Just a couple months ago on a Friday afternoon of my employees got stopped for no seat belt, old Warrant in KS. cuffed him and away they went.
Luckily it was early enough in the afternoon they were able to contact KS. and find out the ticket had been paid years ago, and was released. Very well could have been a long weekend in the slammer.
