FIGHT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Talk to an attorney (JB), State AG (forget Holder, he is useless), your State Rep, US Rep.

This is total BS. Contact Colo and have them PROVE you had a license to suspend.

Oklahoma told me to pound sand. The guy was rude as hell too.

I just got off the phone with the Colorado DMV. The accident report did not list my insurance info. Apparently the officer is not required to record it. I was not issued a ticket, which automatically suggests that I had insurance, but the DMV only cares about seeing the actual info. Because I didn't write down the insurance info on the police report that I never even held in my hands, as far as the State of Colorado is concerned, I didn't have insurance.

I have some info to fax them and I might be able to get this fixed, but this is absolutely asinine.

Well, I imagine even DMV's are buying hundreds of thousands of rounds of ammo buy now and forming their own elite strike forces. Of course we have nothing to fear, it's all quite routine. I do think I hear some sort of SWAT team gearing up and getting ready to go to the OPs house. You can never tell about these guys that don't verify a police office crossed all the T's and dotted all the I's on a routine traffic ticket. They are a shifty bunch, can never be too careful.

Oklahoma and Colorado are both members of the Driver's License Compact and the Non-resident Violator Compact. That means Colorado can ask Oklahoma to suspend the DL of an Oklahoma resident for a Colorado violation if that offense is also subject to suspension in Oklahoma.

Basically, Colorado dug up an old record, submitted it to OKDPS, and OKDPS said "cha-ching!"

Exactly! The problem is that there is actually no offense on record. They literally conjured it up out of thin air because there was no insurance details on the police report. I was never charged with anything. The statute of limitations on rape is 12 years, but when it comes to made up allegations about no insurance, them last forever!

I think as databases grow and search engines become more sophisticated this kind of crap is going to be more common.

A lot of it is just digitizing data. Considering that small departments often uncover hundreds of thousands of dollars in outstanding warrants when they digitize, I can't imagine the figure for a large or state department.
