Guys & Gals,
What would you do in this situation when both of you agree that neither one wants to be a burden on each other if they ever get sick like this?

A friend said Barbara Wise had been disabled by a stroke and that the couple had agreed they never wanted to become disabled in a nursing home. Wise’s attorney said his client had always acted toward his wife with love.

GC and I have different takes on this. He doesn't want to be a burden, but he doesn't believe in hastening the process, so, in the end, if he has his way one of us will be a burden to the other. Me? I couldn't take his life, but I could certainly end my own under certain circumstances.

I remember when the elderly widower across the street finally realized that he could no longer care for his wife (Alzheimers) and he had to put her in a home. It was a lot worse on him than it was on her.

My buddy James lives in a tiny, tiny place. He told us a funny story one day.

Last night I woke up, and my old lady was standing over me with the baseball bat that I keep in the corner of the room. I asked her what the Hell she was doing. She said, "Oh. Hi Honey. I was just moving this bat to the other corner of the room. Go back to sleep." So I went back to sleep. I'm beginning to think I can't trust her.

My wife and I are getting a small plane, and going out like the two in Second Hand Lions. We don't want to suffer, and we hate barns. Well, she does. Anyway, we are going out quick, like a bug on a windsheild.
