I’m noticing a lot of people getting rid of pistol braces before December.

I'm just glad I live in Rogers County and don't have to worry about any of that crap! *Screwing solvent trap onto his 80% build with pistol brace* J/K!

I recently sold a pistol brace but I did it because I replaced a SBA3 brace with one I really wanted--a Dead Foot Arms SCW brace, so I didn't need the SB tactical one any more. Unfortunately, I may have to sell that pistol, too--but to raise money for a deposit on renting a new apartment or house.

So what I'm hearing is that if you have a pistol with a brace, like a KAK or PDW telescoping brace, something kinda permanent, you'd be given amnesty and can waive the tax stamp fee for each pistol with a brace.
If it doesn't have a brace, or doesn't accept a brace (like "pre-brace" pistol extensions) you're good as is.

So if you get the tax stamp, can you then just put a real stock on it and make it an SBR? That kinda what I hearing but maybe I'm nuts. How many "amnesty" pistols can you have?

The enticing aspect of it is exactly what the ATF wants you to drool over. But it will come at a cost and you would be selling out every other gun owner in the process by validating that this sort of scheme works.

I corrected my statement from "seeing" to "hearing", because I haven't seen anything yet, other than articles speculating.
Anyway, to your point, you'd have to do the same for any other NFA item anyway. This is assuming that a braced pistol becomes an NFA item. That, I haven't seen yet.
I mean really, where's the announcement and/or declaration? It sounds like there's a plan to do something nefarious but it's still just a plan and not a reg. If somebody's got a link or something, please post.

The way I read and comprehended it, they're adding a new tier. SBR, SBS, AOW, Pistol. And the pistol has a $0 stamp (not including all the other fees it takes to register something) but you have to submit pictures of the assembled pistol with the brace and it's limited to being a registered pistol at that point.
I'm probably wrong but who the hell knows.
