 I can not stand any more of the whining about Wal Mart employees working on Thanksgiving. The news acts like they are the only people to ever have to work on Thanksgiving. One story even asked "What does a holiday mean if a certain segment of society is de facto excluded from celebrating it?". Get over it already. In the past 20yrs I have worked one of those two days almost as often as I have had them off.

Now back to your regularly scheduled programing from Uncle JB's world o' camps

I'm on call Thanksgiving Day this year "AGAIN"... I've been sucked into outage calls and wound up spending more than my share of Thanksgiving days and at least one Christmas in datacenters. That's life but it sure as heck beats being unemployed.

What about our Troops, Police, Fire, Doctors, EMS, DJs, Movie Theater Operators, Gas Stations etc. etc. etc.??? They don't seem to think themselves too important to do what's needed on holidays now do they?

Maybe more folks should be happy they have a job these days! I can tell you for sure I am.

I never celebrated a holiday for 16 years in the military as it was just another duty day., although I will say the military goes out of their way to make sure the troops get some feeling of the holidays by putting on a feed. No matter where your at. Ours was dropped parachute style to us once.
later on, working in refinerys, and power plants, you don't have an option to celebrate the holidays. Work goes on day after day. Sorry about your luck if you have to work on those days.

The whine bags at Walmart get no symphethy from me.

I saw the parachute drop thing and the first thing that came to mind was Less Nessman throwing the turkeys (live) out of the news chopper on WKRP.

Thanks for serving.
