The way I see it is when they applied to Walmart they knew what they were in for for a work schedule. No one is forcing them to stay there. I work shift work and people have to be here to keep the rest of the US turning. I would like to take off but it just doesn't happen. Its not like a surprise and would be totally different if they didn't know.

Didn't Walmart give their employees Thanksgiving and Christmas off in recent years?
I mean, if you're working a dead-end low wage no future job for a company that doesn't give half a shi+ about you, you really should just be able to suck it up and do what needs to be done.
At WalMart. Because America. Also, again, pretty interesting: men have their asses on the line in Afghanistan. So WALMART.
I think we should go to our local Walmarts and thank the stockboys for their service. They're out there on the wall making the world safe for low sodium chicken soup.

Well I think in years past didn't they just have opened later. I only remember them not opening at all many years ago but that was when I was in KS. I'm sure your probably right.

But also think about it this way... Most people can't live without going to Walmart everyday let alone for something like Thanksgiving in which they need stuff from the store haha.

I hate to admit it, but I really haven't heard very much about this, so I'm probably talking through my hat. WalMart emplyees are upset about something? That kind of thing always happens outside my orbit.

What kind of damn fool would go to Walmart when its crowded and stuffy crammed with humans searching for bargains?
Something is seriously wrong with America.

I'm with you! I usually go shopping there in the early hours of the morning like 5 am. They are usually finished stocking and no ones there. Feels like you have it all to yourself. Other than that its not worth the mess to fight people. Went into the to Reasors in South Tulsa and absolutely felt overwhelmed by all the people in it. Plus its the new High tech one and all they did was scatter the stuff all through the store. Really hard to find stuff.

I know WM used to be open on Thanksgiving Day.
I stopped at the one in Yukon about 10 years ago, Thanksgiving
Day on my way to Watonga and bought a Marlin 25MN .22.
It took forever for the background check because of the skeleton crew doing the checks.

I work in the building directly north of yours. Small world.

And I will not be working on the holidays. I've been there and done that; got the t-shirt. What really sucks is working at walmart the day after thanksgiving!!! That was the worst day for me way back when.

I make it a point to not shop on thanksgiving, christmas, easter day etc. Just because like the old days, I still like to think people care for each other and family. Last minute shoppers are the reason they are open.
