The 1957 is back on the road as of yesterday evening,, I took a little spin in it.
Runs real good and that funny feeling harmonic is not there.. must have been that one piston the entire time creating a shake/ out of balance feeling.

It was very slight but I noticed it..OH well.. on to bigger things.

Ouch.

Then I will probably do what I have been wanting to do.
Build a BBC from some parts I have and stick it in my truck.
Fenderwell headers Tunnel-ram.. Old crower circle track solid lifter cam ground on a 105LSA.

I like your style. Hot rodding started out as doing what you could with what you had. Luckily the crying baby dolls and easter egg paintjobs that cost more than both your truck and car combined seem to be going out of style since they took over in the 80/90s. Old cars should be driven, hard.

There was a LBZ duramax engine minus turbo for sale on tulsa craigslist for $600. Should be plenty of room in there for it.

Sent from the land of teepee's and buffaloes

600! about 2X too much for a daily driver :)

I am using the 350 from my 47 dodge truck ,, should be in and running today.. it makes 76HP more at the wheels than the 57 engine.

You got to get in on the Diesel scene dude! You could get that Heavy Chevy topping over 25 mpg if you would. My 3/4 ton Dodges and Chevy that I have now bust over 22 running empty. That ain't bad for a heavy 4x4 3/4 ton 4 door trucks w/big tires.

Congrats you got the war wagon back on the road!!

That is excellent MPG but to pull it off I feel I would need to have the trans and rearend from the big truck.
all the wiring and fuel system along with the computer.
That 600 dollar bargain could get expensive.

Now a running 600 dollar truck,, but I would leave it in the truck more than likely.
One day maybe when I get the urge to go computer and high fuel pressures.

I suppose if I get my tail kicked enough I will need to change something.

I did race a tweaked 2012 V6 ford car today that put down 331HP at the wheels.
My 57 chevy cleaned his clock. yea!!!
