Let's say that the teacher was a Romney-supporter... and was teaching kids a Mormon "sign"... and became angry with an Obama-supporting kid.

Would you still be as mad?

What if the teacher was a Christian and teaching a child the sign of the cross?

What if the child was a foreign student from the Middle-East?

Exact same reaction of wanting to go kick the ass of the Republican Christian teacher?

No 1. teachers shouldn't be espousing their religious or political beliefs in the classroom I don't care what faith it is.
No 2. teachers do not have the right to yank on any kids arms in a teaching situation unless your a martial arts teacher that is ;-)
(just to clarify Yes I do think they should bring back corporal punishment in school, yes if the kid was hitting another kid then the teacher has the right to step in and separate but absolutely under no circumstance should a teacher grab a kid in a hostile way because they don't "get" something in class)

I did read the name of the thread... So, if it is true. Why in the world would any teacher yank on a childs arm, hand or any other body part? Regardless of the gender, race, religion or polical affiliation of any of the folks participating?

crazy town? IDK I had a first grade teacher that gave me licks every day because I left papers in my desk. I didn't tell my granny & cousin because I was afraid I would get in trouble at home because I was supposed to have a neat desk. years later when I did tell them and said teacher had actually been terminated for her behaviour towards other kids they told me they would've "went down there and snatched every hair outta that bitches head" my granny ruled LOL wish I would've told her!

well, im a woman so beating a womans ass is just fine by me if she's hurting one of my kids.

your logic is also flawed I mean if some woman was threatening (sp?) you with a gun or a knife would you not think it was ok to take the knife beat her ass or shoot her in self defense because she is trying to or has hurt you? I wouldn't have a problem with it at all if you did, there is a major difference between defense and abuse and if your logic is just because someone is the fairer sex I wouldn't step in an defend the defensless then I hope to hell your not the only person around when some wack job chick is hurting a child.
