If you are thinking Public land you need to read the new regulations.
I hadn't been out since before covid, and thought about going this year.
Read the regs. and found my old favorite spot is now "Bow" only.
So I guess find a new spot or don't go!

Which public land area you talking about I know the Deep Fork refuge allows hunting for pig and small game guns. You do need a permit but you literally print it off your self and fill it out .

Or pick up a crossbow and use it, if that’s your fancy.

I feel it is prudent to read the regulations every year before going out.

I have thought about trying to hunt public land, but never do. First I would feel bad if I walked through someones hunt,

second its public land and with my luck someone would set up right next to me or in front of me. LOL.

Private land can be expensive to hunt but is worth it.
