Yep, cops who are looking for a reason to beat the hell out of someone instead of just macing the crap out of them or tasering them, handcuffing them, then standing back.
I still want to hear some justification for seizing the phone. I've been told it was legal, but so is seizing cash without a charge or conviction.
I have no idea what transpired in the moments before this guy expired, so I can't really give an educated opinion about that, but the phone thing sure looks bad.
According to News9's report last night, it's done as evidence preservation. They seize the phone, turn it off, wrap it in 'loomnum foil, and secure it in the evidence locker so nobody can tamper with it before experts (I would presume that they mean court-certified experts) can pull the video.I still want to hear some justification for seizing the phone. We've had hundreds of pages on this subject and it always results in cop bashing and very little intelligent conversation...and most of us are tired of it, hence the lack of a response.
And yet, finishnailer, there is it ... I'm taking a new tact with these types of threads, as I believe the discussion is pertinent, however one-sided it might be right now ... Comments like these will, henceforth, get you banned ... Threads will remain open as long as there is intelligent, pertinent discussion going on ... At the time they turn into mud-slinging they are gone ...
