Call me a cynic, but I doubt he's the voice of reason. I think there's an underlying reason why he is now, suddenly, calling for Trump to be pardoned. What that I might be I don't know, but I trust Uncle Fester about as far as I could throw his ugly nasty arse.

Agreed, I am surprised as you are. I just can't help but think the only reason we are seeing this is he sees some advantage for himself, once that changes, his true colors will show up again.
Trump won Pennsylvania and added a Republican senator... I can't think of a better reason for him to start side stepping.
He was moving to the right long before Trump won. In fact it started shortly after his stroke. I think the stroke activated part of his brain.
