Don't the private garages charge flat rate as the dealers do? I thought they all used the same flat rate book.

Don't the private garages charge flat rate as the dealers do? I thought they all used the same flat rate book.

They charge by the book(flag) hour generally based on what Alldata or Mitchell ondemand says the hours will be. A dealership will charge around $200 a flag hour while an independent shop may charge $80 or 100.
