I've been there alone plenty of times over the last few decades and never had an issue, but I do limit my trips to days/times that minimize the presence of mouth-breathers.

Be advised, the bridge over the river is out so you'll have to go south out of Nobel.

I think it's easier to take Hwy 9 East out of Norman all the way to 180th St, then just go south. The Country Boy grocery store just past 180 on Hwy 9 has some of THE best chicken strips... YUM!!

If you did want to go through Nobel, I would take Cemetery Rd East to 180th, then back south.

I go down the east side of Thunderbird on Peebly from I-40, cut east to 180th and drop south. Go home the same way and stop for grub at the AST Diner near the casino. Their breakfast is pretty good.

I took a lady friend out there yesterday. Neither of us had been there before, and it was dirty, as stated above. But we met a few nice folks, if you don't count a couple of idiots on one of the two ranges who were busy burning up their AR-15 barrels by shooting as fast as they could switch magazines. Needless to say, we chose the range they weren't using.
Some young guys were very respectful, and a man and his wife, both looked to be in their mid-30's, were teaching their two little girls how to shoot and were doing a very good and safe job of it. My lady friend is pretty inexperienced with firearms; we went to American Armory and Tactical's indoor range a week ago and she got her first taste of shooting a 9mm semi-auto.
Yesterday she shot the 9mm, a scoped 10-22 that she fell in love with, and the AR-15, which shocked her with its ease of use and the fact that it didn't jump up of its own accord and begin killing innocent bystanders. She's now hooked on shooting. I do love getting people addicted to this sport and way of life.

Shame somebody doesn't get up a group to clean that place up. Never been there, but I've always heard its a trash dump.

Isn't that where that old guy got beat up and his guns stolen?

It was Wagoner WMA range and beat up is an understatement. Seeing how he was shot multiple times in the head and lived to tell about it and still goes out there and shoots, I would be careful who you are calling an old guy.

WAGONER, Oklahoma - The Wagoner County Sheriff's Department is investigating a shooting of 73-year-old retired veteran at a gun range near Wagoner. It happened around 7:30 Thursday morning.

The victim, Kenneth Payne, was shot multiple times and taken to a Tulsa hospital. Sheriff Bob Colbert said he is expected to survive his injuries.

The Wagoner County Sheriff says it appears Payne was leaving Toppers Gun range and walking back to his truck when someone shot him multiple times in the head.

Payne was seriously wounded but managed to grab his cell phone and call his family for help. His family called 911 and alerted authorities.

Authorities say four guns were taken as well as a portable tool chest. Colbert said no money was taken during the robbery.

"We got a 73-year-old veteran that was shot, left for dead. He'd served his country and basically, somebody tried to snuff this guy out. It's terrible," Sheriff Colbert said.

Sheriff Colbert says Payne is an avid gun enthusiast and practices at the range every day. Payne retired from the Air Force and lived only a few miles away.

The Sheriff is asking the public for any information regarding vehicles or anything that might have been seen during the timeline. OSBI is also investigating the incident.
