Hey guys, I've got a question that hopefully someone's life experience should help me answer.
Some genius backed into my girlfriend's car the other day in our dorm parking lot. It just scuffed up the rear fender of my gf's car, so it's completely drivable, but she's got the opportunity to get it into the shop on the 17th to get it fixed. Luckily, the other girl left a note.
Anyway, we're planning on driving to Starkville, MS on Friday to watch the Arkansas-MSU game. Here's the deal. If my gf puts her car in on Wednesday, her insurance says it'll cover a rental car. But what's difficult is that we're both 19 years old. I don't know if that's been clarified, or if they'll even still offer her a rental when her car is in the shop. It's foggy to me. Just because she's 19 doesn't mean she doesn't need transportation when her car is being fixed as a result of someone else's mistake.
I personally would LOVE for her to get a rental car, because hers only takes premium gas. That extra 25 cents a gallon really hurts over 500 miles. It'd be great if we could get something that gets 35 mpg on regular unleaded.
But here's my other question. If the other girl's insurance does provide a rental car, it's an 8 hour drive to Starkville, and I don't want my gf to have to drive the whole way. Any chance I'll be able to drive even though I'm 19? If not, we'll just wait to put her car in the shop afterwards and I'll have to pay more for gas.
