I'm having a hard time following your posts, and understanding what you're trying to say.
In this case, are you saying police shouldn't respond to people throwing rocks at them?

I do not believe that police and law enforcement who we believe are held to a higher standard, and who are supposedly trained extensively, and who are wearing layers of protective gear should be using the amount of force that they have used. From shooting at people's head (against policy), shooting point blank against people on the ground (against policy), knocking over old men (I assume against policy), shooting at reporters (very against policy) and the multitude of abuses that I have seen. Should crowd control be engaged, absolutely. But if they are held to a higher standard, and expected to be better, then no I don't think they should be shooting up crowds.

The most effective thing that we've seen in all these protests is that the departments and national guard detachments that actively work to de-escalate are the ones that have been most effective. The ones who stand their ground and engage with people who ultimately want to be heard are the ones we don't see as much on the viral video circuit.

I have some frozen water bottles in my freezer, any of you want to volunteer and let me throw them at you?? Come on

Do you have police issued riot gear for the person you are throwing at to wear? I wouldn't want Randy Johnson to hit me in the chest with a fastball (I've see what happened to the bird after all) but I betcha I could take it if I was wearing a catcher's gear.

It might be important to state "if they are frozen, if they are filled with concrete" isn't the same as "they are frozen, they are filled with concrete"

We complain so much about fake news, try not to make it yourself.

OK then where should the police draw the line in taking action ? OK for water bottles, and bricks but how about Molotov cocktails....that OK with you ? How about looters and people destroying property ? That OK with you too. I'd just like a list so I know when they should shoot the terrorist.

Thanks for the reply.
I agree that some police are responding with more force than is needed, and even against policy (I don't know those details).
Of course de-escalation is always good.
I also think wanting to be heard doesn't give you the right to ignore lawful orders from police; to clear an area, respect a boundary.
If the police could accurately target the violent ones that would be the preferred method, but that's rarely possible.
Police wear riot gear not for the peaceful protesters, but for the violent ones. Police have a right to protect themselves too.

Regarding the video of the tall elderly man getting pushed and hurting his head in the fall; it looked like he was disobeying a lawful order to move, he approached the officers and it looked like he was poking around at the officers equipment belt. At that point the officer gave him a push, that didn't look like much of a push; just enough to say "get back, don't touch my stuff". I think a reasonable response.
If the man hadn't fallen it would be a non-event. It just so happens the man lost his footing and hit his head.

But the narrative is that the mean police pushed an old man protester for no reason and gave him a head injury.
Of course that's tragic, but stupid games and prizes, ya know.
