several years ago several ATF agents were arrested for taking guns and ammo across to mexico and they said they forgot they had them. so i am not suprised and at this point i would believe just about everything.

+1 on they should not exist and most other Govt. Agencies.

I'd like to see BATFE release the records on EXACTLY where those 5,114 guns came from. Did they come from gun dealers, government agencies, individuals?

Try an FOIA request. They will have to give you something--either what you request, what you request with portions redacted beyond usefulness, or a denial based on any of several criteria, the most common of which you didn't provide enough information for the agency to know what you wanted.
