I surrendered $5,000 and kept everything, retirement, house, self respect and all. Told her she was by law entitled to half of the retirement but she turned it down.
Aside from that, a Pre-Nuptial agreement sows the seeds of distrust and if one doesn't trust the other very well, they shouldn't enter into a marriage.

I think marriage should be abolished. If you choose to spend the rest of your life with someone, you shouldn't need a church, government, person or piece of paper to make it official for you. If you realize that you've made the wrong decision, you shouldn't need permission from anyone to call it quits. Marriage and it's institution is antiquated and it's time to get rid of it.

Yes I'm serious. Yes I'm married. Yes I'm happy with my partner choice.
Well said. People and circumstances change. Saying a person should die by their decision about marrying someone when they’re young NO MATTER WHAT, is insane to me.

Yes, I’m married. No, I don’t regret my decision to do so

I've been saying that for years. Commitment and trust is needed to build a good relationship and marriage, and a prenup indicates that neither party has the trust, thus probably not the commitment as well.

By default, when a person gets married they are agreeing to the State's prenup, in effect. A private prenup sets things up as the two parties deem fair. Why should it be left to the gov to split things if it all blows up?

I doubt they are consciously agreeing to that.
A private prenup is almost like a premeditated split.
