I aquired an interesting find today. A 1904 ishapore in 410. It does not appear to be bored out to an American 410 guage, but still in the original 410 musket. The stock is in rough shape and im in the process of cleaning it up a little because its been stored poorly. Im not sure i even want to shoot it hahaha. Its quite an interesting conversation piece.

I've owned a couple of these they are great fun to shoot . I may still have a few rounds of the original ammunition , totally work taking out and shooting when you get a chance .. shoot some buckshot and slugs through it and enjoy.
Same here, they were nicer than this sample, but not many were really nice as this fate generally was reserved for guns already on last legs....never had to worry about safety, considering the pressures of shells only running essentially BP pressures. Never kept one, though, but never kept a 2.5lb single, either.

Thanks guys! I tried to fit a 2 1/2 inch 410 shell in it and the bore was too tight. So i tried a 303 and it fit like it should around the mouth of the chamber. Thats why i assumed it was chambered for the 410 musket. If any one has a few, id happily buy about 5 rounds or so. I was thinking about ordering some online. Theyre expensive, but not as expensive as i thought they would be. It is a smooth bore. No rifling. And the bore looks really good. Im tossing around the idea of making a shadow box for it.

Let me dig in my stuff and see but I think I have a few rounds. Just an FWIW totally worth taking to a smith and having it reamed for 410 most were when imported and it doesn't hurt the value at all.
