Put a fuel pressure gauge on it with a long hose and drive it; this will let you know if the problem is fuel or ignition. As already suggested, I would also look when it is dark for plug wires arcing out. Does it only cut out under a load, or will it misfire at idle after it is warmed up?

The cheap harbor freight fuel pressure gauge kit will thread onto the schrader valve on the fuel rail of your jeep. That will be the easiest way to tell if you are getting fuel pressure or not.

The fuel pressure regulator is vacuum driven and is cheap to replace, as is the entire vacuum harness, which is available from dorman as two seperate kits on amazon or from summit. If it is only happening as the car heats up, also make sure you don't have any leak around the actual injectors. If you replace those, I recommend using bosch instead of the junky single-hole injectors the used on these early fuel injected models as they don't atomize the fuel very well. (Also complete set of bosch's on ebay will cost less than one single OEM injector from the dealership)
