I had a Savage rifle with a jeweled bolt, it looked great. My dads old Winchester 1400 shotgun has a jeweled bolt (I think its called a bolt) and it looks nice. I will say I don't like jeweled hammers or triggers but to each their own.

I did the bolts on a couple 10-22s and I think it looks nice. Used the Brownells tool in my mini-mill which allowed me to precisely space the jewels. If I didn't have the mill probably wouldn't have attempted it.

I had one (maybe two?) firearms jeweled back in the day. The consensus back then was that jeweling allowed for a more consistent distribution of gun lube. I can see how that might be.
