During two tours in Washington, DC, I met several of the astronauts in connection with my duty, and I never worked with a more professional group. As with all our heroes who earned their wings and medals, they deserve our gratitude and respect for their service to our country. I remember Senator Glenn as an opinionated and difficult person to brief. I was scared of him.
RIP Colonel Glenn. I salute you. Thank you for your service.

I don't care about his politics at all. He was an honorable man, had more guts and courage than most of us can only day dream about, and was a fine American. I pray that he may Rest In Peace.

There were a lot of nazis with courage in the face of enemy fire, communists, too. Does that mean we should celebrate them as honorable men? He was a democrat, a liberal. He conspired to thwart our second amendment rights.
