Do you wake up pissed off every day? The man paid his price several times over for his country and he died of brain cancer. It's over, he's dead. Let's not piss on his grave. So drop the whataboutism and let the man Rest In Peace.
No I don’t. But I am not gonna praise a man that did more damage to this great country than he did good. This has nothing to do with whataboutism. I am stating facts about him. The man was such a rino he wanted Bush and Obama to do his eulogy but didn’t want Trump there. What a man. Such integrity.

How long do you think he had known Bush and Obama, respectively?

i know it's hard to believe that someone could have friends who didn't share the same political views (or even opposite ones). Or that maybe he didn't want someone who was openly hostile towards he and his military service at his funeral.

Or maybe the proud Vietnam vet and POW simply worried that Trump's bone spurs would cause him too much pain to attend...

Yes it has. OSA used to be a Firearms Forum that was a community of like-minded people. Now, it seems to have slid off the curb and down in the gutter in many ways. I am saddened buy the fact that the majority of posts here now are rancorous and of and about political things.

Well, I'll be...there it is alright, it's right there, on the internet for all to see, so it must be true. Everyone knows that once you see something on the internet, there's no disputing it; no ..."other side" to a story.
What about campaigning for months based on repealing Obamacare but then spending the last year of your life protecting the legislation while hurting those people you campaigned to? That happened. Not some internet story.

Jesus, guys ... at the end of the day he was just a guy who pulled his pants on and off just like the rest of us.

I don't get the "hero worship" thing but that's neither here nor there. There are plenty of people who have done what he did for our country and more, but because they didn't have a "important" dad and grandpa we've never heard of them. So they never had a shot at being a politician.

And before any of you get on your high horse about me being "against" veterans (you know who you are, you jerk) don't even start with me. I don't have to fall down and worship every damned thing some man did in order to have the utmost respect for our military and the men and women who served. By your standards I ought to be teaching Bradley/Chelsa Manning how to give a Post 12.

I feel for his family but I am thankful he is gone. He was a lying piece of crap as a senator. He gets terminal brain cancer and was unable to do his job but refused to give it up just proves how power hungry and pathetic he was. And to me, he was no war hero. I have respect for his service and what he had been through but I don’t believe that makes him a hero. What about the man that suffered with him? You never hear a word about him. Why aren’t every single man and woman that is killed on active duty called hero’s? They might get two seconds in the news. But since McCain was a million year senator he was all the sudden special. He did more to hurt our country than he did to help it. Hopefully the voters in Arizona will vote in a real conservative. We can’t afford to have more rinos or Dems.
Sir,

Go ahead an tell us how you really feel. I for one agreed with you, I think that Carlos Hathcock, Chris Kyle and many other deserve to be called hero. He for one trotted the political career all the way to end, he didn't know when to quit. He wasn't doing any good for the country or the party, he was occupying space and been an hinder to the country and the party. Now that been said my prayer is with him and his family RIP.

People forget he was ALWAYS for a strong military, and helped to pump up military spending and increase programs for service member support.
So he got soft and sappy towards the end, and didn’t want to take away some folks’ medical insurance. He had a brain tumor at that point. Illness sucks

i agree with you about 'hero worship', but i think the 'he was a traitor' types are equally as wrong.

It's almost as if a man's life can be complicated and contradictory at times.

You literally said... "What about?" LOL

For the rest, I get you have an opinion and you convolute that as fact. However, in terms of integrity, well he certainly put his rear in the line of fire literally, to stand up for what he believed in.
