Sheesh. I hope not!

Dust to dust; why keep me segregated in death? Burn me up and scatter it around somewhere.

But I get the point.

I feel the same way. Fry me and scatter me at the gun range. Then go have drinks at the bar. I've spent too much of my life in the cages we, and others, build for us -- I could do with the freedom to follow the wind.

BTW, i heard an interesting fact. With his passing, there are no long any Vietnam vets serving in the US Senate.
Those of us who were the youngest servicemen and women in Vietnam are in our 60s and above now. It's time for the Desert Storm/Enduring Freedom veterans to step up and serve in the legislature, as so many have already begun doing.

Rip John McCain. Jesus guys, this is a memorial thread. Some of the comments here are just shocking. This place has changed a lot.
Meaning of "memorial" =something designed to preserve the memory of a person, event, etc., what people remember(memory) about John McCain is what is being presented here, and I don't respect the man, and a lot of others don't either.

Senator McCain served our nation very well. There has never been an elected official that has done everything just the way I want (or you want) and there never will be. Their decisions are made on the basis of interests, knowledge, resources, etc. that none of us have at our disposal at the time any decision is made. Quit complaining about any of these folks, and start respecting them for the full job they do, and not just for the things that please you. There are far more people, and opinions, that matter than just you or me.

When he pretty much single handedly saved Obamacare after campaigning for the repeal of it, I was done with him. Being a “war hero” gets him respect for his service in uniform, but doesn’t get him a pass for the political stupidity (yes, including Palin) and obstructionism. Play with the team or take your ball and go home.

No, he didn't actually.

He voted against weak-sauce measures that did not repeal Obamacare. The two big measures he voted against were horrible pieces of legislation which were hastily written and ineffectual.

Anyone on the left heralding him as the savior of Obamacare is as misguided as those on the right doing the same.

But yeah, that Palin thing was pretty boneheaded LOL. I was shocked when he picked her.
