The SEC isn't what it was in previous years as the Heisman race was really thin as well. A mobile QB will do well in the SEC because they don't see them week in and out like they do in the Big 12. Look what happens when there is one, Teebow, Newton.... That being said, Manziel won because he had the best marketing and story. Anyone that watches ESPN has seen all the hype since they beat Bama.

As much as I can't stand ND, 'Teo deserved it.

And he did it with a lower passer rating than Klein, in a conference not used to the spread. Klein’s team was supposed to finish 6th in the Big XII (finished 1st), he accounted for 69% of KSU’s yardage and 66% of their offensive TDs, and was the Big XII offensive player of the year. Klein’s downfall was the debacle at Baylor, and the fact that he played at KSU.

And what was that arrest over the summer?

Want to compare the two QB's?

Passer Rating - Klein 156.1, Manziel 155.8 (wow, big difference)
% Completion - Klein 66.2%, Manziel 68.3 %
Passing Yards - Klein 2490, Manziel 3419
Passing TD's - Klein 15, Manziel 24
Interceptions - Klein 7, Manziel 8
Rushing Yards - Klein 890, Manziel 1181
Rushing TD's - Klein 22, Manziel 19
Total Yards - Klein 3380, Manziel 4600
Total TD's -Klein 37, Manziel 43

Big 12 is an big offense conference and the SEC is a big defense conference.

Klein won Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year
Manziel:
2012 Heisman Trophy winner
2012 Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award
2012 SEC Offensive Player of the Year
2012 SEC Freshman of the Year
2012 All-SEC First-Team Quarterback
Finalist, Maxwell Award
Finalist, Walter Camp Player of the Year
Finalist, Manning Award (winner to be announced January 9, 2013)
Finalist, AT&T ESPN All-America Player (announced early December)

On June 29, 2012, before he was chosen as Texas A&M's starting quarterback and before his first college game, Manziel was arrested and charged with three misdemeanors -- disorderly conduct, failure to identify, and possession of a fictitious driver's license. These charges stemmed from a late-night fight in College Station, Texas.

Police reports state that Manziel was with a friend who directed a racial slur at a man on the street. The man then approached the two of them trying to get at the friend, but Manziel placed himself between the two men saying his friend didn't mean it and he was going to take him home. The man continued pushing against Manziel to reach the other, and eventually Manziel pushed back. At this point, the man swung at Manziel who then began fighting back. Shortly afterward, the bicycle patrol officers arrived. Manziel, who at the time was 19, presented a fake Louisiana driver’s license to police officers showing himself to be 21. Manziel was taken into custody and reportedly spent the night in jail.

Six teams in the BCS Top 10 including one in the BCS Championship game. Yep, it's a down year.

Not one team outside of that.... usually you have something like 8-9 in the top 25. Which means playing a team like Arkansas, Tennessee or Auburn normally isn't a gimme but this year it was. So you have 6 really good teams, and 6 REALLY bad teams. Traditionally this doesn't happen in the SEC, it's not like I'm saying something breakthrough here. The conference is relatively top heavy, even compared to the Big 12.

It cracks me up, every year you have fans of a johnny come lately program that get all delusional. I mean lets face it, you got lucky against Bama......you're the 4th best in the SEC..... you think you're on the top of the world playing in the Cotton bowl....which is a disappointment for your opponent.
